As a sometime coal miner myself, I was particularly impressed by the high energy coefficient represented by the contents of the miners’ tin. Having seen the enormous physical demands of the work undertaken here, you will appreciate just how popular the contents of the tin have been— particularly among the young men. Chocolate is about as close to coal as any of them get!

Your efforts on our behalf were outstanding, and I wanted to convey to you my personal thanks. Your legacy in fact defines the office in significant ways. The hanging of the historical photographs in the vestibule and in the corridor was a great achievement. They serve to remind our visitors what we stand for—the rights of workers, social justice and a fair go for all members of our community.
